How the right pillow can improve sleep quality

When was the last time you had a good night’s sleep? I mean, a really good night’s sleep? If it’s been a while, there’s a good chance you aren’t using the right pillow for you.

Quality sleep is so important – and I can absolutely notice the difference in myself when I don’t get enough. Although my coffee addiction keeps me going through the general sense of drowsiness and lethargy, when I haven’t had enough sleep, my memory recall is terrible!

Chris is the same – and with his work schedule, it can be tough. As those who work nights will know, it can take a few days for your internal body clock to adjust, which makes it difficult to get enough good quality sleep. However, we’ve found that making a few adjustments to our bedroom has really helped.

Earlier this year, we upgraded our pillows and were happy with our selections. But, when Etienne Home invited us to test their unique new height-adjustable pillow – we were curious!

At last… The pillow you’ve been dreaming of

If you’ve ever spent an afternoon in a homewares store trying to decide between an endless range of barely distinguishable pillows, only to later realise the pillow you selected is too low, too high, too firm or too soft – the At Last pillow is the one for you.

With their clever “pillow-in-a-pillow” design, the At Last pillow has options for all kinds of sleepers and allows you to create to perfect pillow height for your body.

It features two memory foam inserts surrounded by a beautifully soft microfibre layer inside a cotton sateen casing, that can be easily removed to wash.

One night and we were hooked

The first thing that came to mind when our pillows arrived was that they were hotel-like quality – but not just any hotel. Like, the fanciest hotel where you have the best sleep of your life.

I wear a FitBit most days, which has a feature that tracks and measures sleep. According to the readings, I average about six and a half hours of sleep most nights, regardless of what day of the week it is. (Hideous, I know!)

After one night with the At Last pillow, I had blissful eight-hour sleep and felt more revitalised than I had in months. (I even scrolled back through previous scores – and this was the best sleep I had had in three months!)

Is the At Last Pillow right for you?

One of the great things about the At Last pillow is that it has been specifically designed to suit everyone – and there’s even a kids option. Whether you’re a side sleeper, a tummy sleeper or prefer to sleep on your back, you can create the right pillow height your own preferences.

As a general rule of thumb, here are the options you may find the most comfortable:

  • Side sleepers: prefer a higher profile, using both inserts
  • Back sleepers: prefer a medium profile using the large insert only
  • Stomach sleepers: prefer a low profile, using the small insert only

Of course, this may not be the case for you, and it’s entirely up to your own preferences. The beauty of this pillow is that you can try all options and find the one that gives you a comfortable and restorative sleep… At last!

Etienne Home are currently offering two ‘At Last’ pillows for $199 plus free shipping as part of their October promotion. To find out more about Etienne Home and shop the At Last pillow, click here
